The academic session for July was conducted by Rahila Waqar on “Whole Brain Teaching”. The session was attended by over 40 participants who enjoyed the concept introduced innovatively. The range of interesting teaching –learning modes applied by the facilitator were greatly appreciated by the participants.
The academic session for the month of August 2010 will be conducted by Fatima Jabeen on “Learning strategies for students: An aid to memory and retention” Very often teachers tend to use activities randomly in the classroom, without knowing its significance or keeping students ability in mind. This workshop aims at discovering and understanding some of the well researched and the most widely used methods of helping students to learn more successfully. Participants will discuss common learning problems and learn various strategies to aid memory and retention in students.
The presenter, Fatima Jabeen, is an English lecturer at National University of Modern Languages; and a visiting faculty at the Ziauddin College of Speech Language Therapy, Karachi. She has a Master’s degree in English Literature and Linguistics from Karachi University. She has also done the Master Trainee’s Course from TDC in 2009. She is an active SPELTer and a member of the Journal Committee. |
